Japanese watercolour on Saunders Waterford cold pressed paper
This painting is currently on view at Mission Gallery, Swansea until 7 May 2022 and is available to purchase through the gallery. Please contact Mission Gallery for more information.
This original watercolour is based on koi markings found in real life, which can hold great meaning to collectors. I have also employed colour to denote certain attributes - red and pink symbolize strength and bravery, and passion. The group of koi shown here are greater than the sum of their parts. They circle the page to protect each other, no one is more equal than the other. It represents a friendship or familial group where each person looks out for one another.
It was painted using specialist Japanese watercolours on prized St. Cuthbert's Mill Saunders Waterford paper.
Unframed: 380 x 310mm
Framing is available on request
The painting will be sent flat and wrapped in protective cello, acid free tissue paper and in a reinforced cardboard art box. Posted via specialist carriers.
