Red, Pink and Gold
Red, Pink and Gold
Watercolour and 24K gold leaf on Saunders Waterford cold pressed paper
This original watercolour and gold leaf painting is based on koi markings found in real life, which can hold great meaning to collectors. I have also employed colour to denote certain attributes - red and pink symbolize strength and resilience, while gold represents prosperity.
It was painted using specialist Japanese watercolours on prized St. Cuthbert's Mill Saunders Waterford paper. Museum grade 24k gold leaf was applied entirely by hand.
This painting was part of Emma's solo exhibition at Mission Gallery, Swansea from March - May 2022. Please contact Mission Gallery for more details about this exhibition.
