In this original painting, beautifully hand gilded koi dart across gently undulating waves of blue. The waves are reminiscent of tradtional woodcut prints by Japanese artists, with which Emma has held a long fascination for. The golden koi reflects the light even on the darkest and overcast of days, and the watercolours blend into one another, almost mimicking the movement of water.
This listing is for an original hand gilded watercolour painting, mounted in an acid-free mount. Painted using specialist Japanese watercolours on Winsor and Newton artist quality watercolour paper. 24ct gold leaf was applied entirely by hand.
